Olga Kuzina was born on July 29, 1967, in Akhtubinsk, Astrakhan region.
In 1989, she graduated from Lomonosov Moscow State University, Faculty of Economy; in 1995 she completed her resident PhD course at the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1998, she completed her Master’s degree programme at the University of Manchester (the UK), Sociology Department, at Moscow School of Social and Economic Sciences. In 2000–2007, she attended a Doctor’s degree course at the University of Essex (the UK), Department of Sociology. PhD in Economics, Doctor of Sociology (PhD).
In 1995–1999, Ms. Kuzina worked as a junior research associate at the Institute of Economics of the Russian Academy of Sciences. In 1999, she was promoted to senior research associate and became associate professor at the Economic Sociology Department of the State University – Higher School of Economics (currently HSE, National Research University Higher School of Economics). She also teaches at the HSE International College of Economics and Finance and works as a senior research associate at the HSE Laboratory for Studies in Economic Sociology . Since 2012, she has been working as Professor at the HSE Department of Economic Sociology.
Starting from March 2007, Ms. Kuzina has been leading a number of projects at the National Financial Research Agency (NAFI). On March 1, 2007, she was appointed General Director of NAFI and remained its head until March 2011.
Ms. Kuzina authored numerous publications and research projects in the sphere of financial behaviour sociology and public financial awareness.
