Andrey Kostin

President and Chairman of the Management Board, Member of the Supervisory Council, VTB Bank

Andrey Kostin was born on September 21, 1956 in Moscow. In 1979 he graduated with honors from Moscow State University with a degree in International Economics. In 2001 he received a Ph.D. in Economics in the Finance Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation.

From 1979 to 1992 Mr. Kostin was on diplomatic service at the USSR Consulate General in Australia (1979-1982) and Embassy to the UK (1985-1990).

From 1993 to 1995 he was Deputy Head of Foreign Investment Department of Imperial Bank. In 1995 Mr. Kostin was elected First Deputy Chairman of National Reserve Bank.

In 1996 he was appointed Chairman of Vnesheconombank by presidential executive order; his term in office was extended in 1999 for another three years.

Since June 10, 2002 Andrey Kostin is President and Chairman of the Management Board, Member of the Supervisory Council of Vneshtorgbank (in 2006 it was renamed into VTB Bank).

Married, with children and a grandson.
