Elvira Nabiullina, the Governor of the Bank of Russia, believes Russia’s bond market has a great potential.
Ms. Nabiullina stated at the International Financial Congress: “The bond market is actively developing, while its potential is bigger than its current capacity”.
According to the Governor of the Bank of Russia, the capital market and the debt market are unevenly developed with credit financing prevailing.
Ms. Nabiullina emphasized: “If we compare bank assets to the GDP, they will exceed 100%. And if we look into other forms of financing, including non-banking debt financing and equity financing, it’s significantly less”.
